Siberian larch![]() Доска пола из лиственницы ![]() ![]() ![]() In the epic legends of the mansi people larch was considered to be a symbol of might, longevity and a constant renewal of life. Besides, larch is a very soothing timber. It is capable of healing nervous breakdowns, especially those that are often accompanied by fits of melancholia and depression. In our production larch holds a very special place.
Siberian larch is an exceptionally valuable material. Larch as timber is a lot stronger than oak - 96 Мпа over 94 Мпа. The density of Siberian larch is 620-725kg/m3 at the moisture of 12%, which does not yield much to that of oak: 670-720 kg/m3. Besides its exceptional strength and resistance to outer exposure, it is famous for its good color and structure. This particular timber has a very good future.
Before larch was basically used for manufacturing mine bearings, in shipbuilding, etc, in other words, larch was used in places of high humidity. At present larch has been recognized as an extra strong timber for manufacturing floors, door and window frames, staircases, furniture, which, naturally, does not exclude its usage for landscape purposes.
The color and structure of larch timber are very expressive. Its natural shine and a rich range of colors from yellow-brownish to pink and pinkish brown lend beauty and comfort to the houses finished in larch. Its annual rings are clearly seen and distinctly differ from one another in color and structure.
The Siberian larch is a very resistant timber. The longtime research has shown that due to the combination of a very high density and a high gummosity including a very specific composition of the larch resin, Siberian larch does not only hold the first place according to its resistance to rot, but its resistance to rot is twice as high as that of oak, pine and ash.
This quality of larch is very valuable especially for outside finish. Moreover, it is practically absolutely resistant to damage by insects. While it grows, the larch does nothing but gain in density and strength (durability).
